The design of the VTplus machines has an emphasis on automation. - The headstock is designed to minimize the effects of thermal expansion. In tests, a high Cp value (Capability of Precision, the higher the value obtained, the better accuracy repeatability displayed) of 1.41 at 15 m tolerance if obtained on VTplus-15/20.
- This remarkable achievement even reaches grade A--the highest level (Cp value over 1.33), which shows the accuracy and stability, of the VTplus machines.
Cutting condition on VTplus-15
The directly driven spindle unit uses the powerful FANUCP series motors with their wide range of high torque output and fast acceleration times to optimum speeds.
Fast tool changing is an essential requirement to reducing idle time, and the random bi-directional turret fitted to the VTplus sreries has a station to station time of 0.3 sec. A camlock mechorism aids heavy hogging while also ensccing excellent tool change repeatability.
The VTplus series has been designed using the latest computer analysis technology to simulate stresses in the machine structures so that the design can provide the optimum rigidity and cutting stability.
The simple compact design occupies minimal floor space, 2.15 x 1.56 m for VTplus-15/20.To assist in tailoring the machine to fit into existing shop floor layouts, the swarf conveyor can be located at either the rear or the right hand side of the machine bed.
